A total of 11 Xiaomi devices, including smartphones and tablets, are poised to receive HyperOS next month. The Xiaomi 12S series takes the lead in December, encompassing the regular Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Interestingly, the Xiaomi 12S series was initially omitted from the list of devices set to receive HyperOS Wave 2, sparking discussions within the Xiaomi China community forums. Notably, the Xiaomi 12S series marks Xiaomi’s maiden collaboration with Leica. However, Xiaomi spokesperson Zhang GuoQuan took to Chinese social media platform Weibo to clarify the situation, citing a misunderstanding in the previous announcement. GuoQuan affirmed that the Xiaomi 12S series is a priority device set to receive HyperOS, prompting Xiaomi to revise their initial post and include the Xiaomi 12S series as one of the models getting the new interface next month.

In addition to the Xiaomi 12S series, other devices in line for the HyperOS upgrade include Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro. The Redmi brand is also represented with the inclusion of the Redmi K50. It’s worth noting that this HyperOS update is currently rolling out exclusively to users in China, as reported by Gizmochina on Monday (27/11/2023). There is no information available yet regarding the global release of HyperOS after its initial rollout on November 8.

HyperOS represents a new era for Xiaomi, serving as the next-generation interface to replace MiUI, which has accompanied Xiaomi’s diverse product lineup and sub-brands (Redmi and Poco) for approximately 13 years.
